Dream house

Do U hv a dream house? Yeah I guess everyone does. Me included. I dont dream of a big lavish bungalow located in Bangsar or Damansara Height, a decent, modern-designed and average-in-size house would suffice. Current design, which I can say has evolved so much since the early 2000s are a lot more appealing and attractive. The two photos below are examples  of current and the 90's house designs. Ermm...needless to say, you can see the vast difference, rite? :)

If I were to buy a new house, I would definitely buy a new modern one, fresh from the developer rather than an old one as a 2nd owner which not only would cost you a bomb but also old with unappealing design that needs a lot of renovation!!  It never failed to amaze me why people would buy an 'old' house with inflated price just because it has the 'freehold' status as opposed to a 'leasehold' of the same or less price located nearby......(well, if you say the reason you bought that old house is the nice neighbourhood, that is quite acceptable then, for I would also prefer a place that 'looks' safe and serene...)

So folks, if these two houses, the modern one cost you 700k but leasehold, whereas the one below is also 700k but freehold, which one would you choose to be yours???
